Our Aims and Objectives

  • To ensure that children's well-being and involvement is monitored and support is given when required.
  • To provide a curriculum which promotes the Early Years Foundation Stage, is primarily child led and offers equal learning and development opportunities for all children.
  • To encourage and develop all children’s self-confidence, self-esteem and a sense of achievement with mutual care and respect for others.
  • To provide for the individual needs and interests of each child.
  • To encourage independent learning through play, exploration and structured but flexible activities.
  • To plan first-hand experiences with a meaningful context that provides all children with challenges and stimulation.
  • To encourage exploration and experimentation through “open-ended” play and well planned activities and experiences that enable all children to develop positive learning skills.
  • To encourage children to be motivated, curious, and independent learners.
  • To create a positive partnership with all parents to support and enhance the development of their child.
  • To celebrate and respect the diversity of all children and their families.

How we achieve our Aims:

  • By having qualified, experienced and skilled staff that have a sound understanding of child development and the EYFS.
  • To observe all children and take into account their views and interests when planning the appropriate steps to develop their learning.
  • To build upon the child’s existing knowledge and experiences.
  • Our staff encourages, praise, interact positively and respect all children which enhances their confidence, self esteem and sense of emotional well being.
  • During the day we ensure that there is a balance between the child’s self chosen activities and adult led activities.
  • Our staff share information regarding the children’s progress with parents, enabling their full participation as partners in their child’s development and learning.
  • Staff ensure through daily risk assessment that the nursery is safe and secure.
  • Staff plan and set up stimulating activities both inside and outside with excellent resources showing an in-depth understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
  • By keeping detailed records and observations (Child Profiles) on each Child, including photographs that show each child’s development and progression.
  • To plan broad themes which cover a range of interests to help assist the child to develop their physical, intellectual, cultural, social and emotional potential.
