Woodlands is a small nursery accepting 20 children at any session between the ages of 2 and 4 years inclusive. Children can be added to our waiting list when they are 1 year old. Requests from parents of children already attending Woodlands for any additional sessions are given priority. There is no charge to be put on the waiting list. Woodlands also offers before and after school/ holiday club for children up to aged 7.
All things being equal, children will be assigned sessions in strict waiting list order. However, there may be times when this is not always possible i.e. the start date/sessions required is not suitable, for example if a child leaves who attends on a full time basis these sessions will be filled with a child on the waiting list requesting a full time place. therefore would take preference over a child requiring two school days.
woodlands can only take 8 two year olds at any one time due to ratios. Therefore this can also impact on waiting list order.
present trends indicate that many children leave the setting at the end of august, to move onto school therefore freeing up spaces for children on the waiting list. There is very little movement throughout the year.
When a place becomes available at Woodlands the manager will consult the waiting list. If for example a full-time place becomes available then this would need to be filled by another full-time child. Parents are notified by telephone if a place becomes available. If the place is accepted, then application and contracts are sent to the parents.
These must be completed ASAP and non-refundable registration fee of £100 needs to be paid to secure the place. This covers admin and includes visits for your child, a hot meal if required and a book bag with a family book. If the sessions offered are not suitable, parents then have the choice to remain on the waiting list.
Children with special educational needs and disabilities, like all children, are admitted to the nursery after consultation between parents, the manager and the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator, and with due regard to the SEND policy and the health, welfare and safety of the children at Woodlands.
Woodlands, does not have any nappy changing facilities. However, children who are not fully dry will have their nappies changed in the toilet area following our nappy changing procedure.
Parents requiring “wrap around” care can add their childs name to the waiting list. Places are offered in a strict waiting list order. Parents are noified by telephone if a place becomes available. If the place is accepted, then application forms are sent to the parents. These must be completed and a registration fee of £25 needs to be paid. This is to secure the place.
